A homeless man who lived in West Hollywood was sentenced today to 15 years to life in state prison for the murder of a 28-year-old woman whose body was found in a trash dumpster, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office announced.

Deputy District Attorney David Berger said Abdulla Tario Camran, 30, pleaded no contest on Dec. 12, 2017, to one count of second-degree murder.

The victim, Joie Nicole Kinney, was in a dating relationship with the defendant, the prosecutor said. Camran killed her during a drunken argument on July 6, 2016, the prosecutor said.

At today's sentencing, Kinney's family gave victim impact statements.

Case SA093398 was investigated by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, West Hollywood Station.
