A 40-year-old man pleaded no contest today for driving his pickup truck on the wrong side of the 405 Freeway and crashing head-on into a car, killing two Palmdale brothers, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office announced.

Deputy District Attorney Morgan Mallory said Rodney Deshone Wright of San Fernando entered his plea to two counts of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.

As a result of the plea, Wright was immediately sentenced to 10 years in state prison.

On Jan. 21, 2017, Wright was driving his truck southbound in the carpool lane of the northbound 405 Freeway for more than four miles, the prosecutor said. Near the Sepulveda Boulevard underpass in West Los Angeles, the defendant's vehicle crashed into a minivan driven by Ainsley Hall Hubbard, 27, killing both him and his brother, Aiden Cochran Hubbard, 31, a passenger in the car, the prosecutor added.

The defendant's blood alcohol content was measured at .16.

Case SA096109 was investigated by the California Highway Patrol, West Los Angeles Station.
