Man Charged With Fatal Shooting at Industry Construction Site

A man was charged today with fatally shooting a construction worker in Industry last week, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office announced.

Elias Haro Rodriguez (dob 2/8/93) of Perris was charged in case KA118457 with one count of murder with the special allegation that he used a firearm. His arraignment was continued until July 25 in Department N of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, Pomona Branch.

On June 18, victim Juan Carlos Castro Flores, 50, was working in the 14700 block of Nelson Avenue when he was allegedly approached by Rodriguez who is accused of shooting him several times. Rodriguez fled the scene but was arrested several days later.

If convicted as charged, Rodriguez faces up to life in state prison.

The case remains under investigation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Homicide Bureau.
