A Sherman Oaks man was charged today with stabbing both of his fathers multiple times, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office announced.
Matthew Boulet (dob 11/29/96) faces two counts of attempted murder and one count of aggravated mayhem.
Arraignment is scheduled today in Department 100 of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, Van Nuys Branch.
Case LA088829 includes allegations that Boulet inflicted great bodily injury on the two victims and that a knife was used as a deadly and dangerous weapon.
On July 24, the defendant allegedly stabbed one victim multiple times on the neck, torso, arms, face and ears, prosecutors said. When the victim's husband reportedly attempted to intervene, he also was stabbed multiple times on the arms, torso and face, prosecutors added.
If convicted as charged, Boulet faces a possible maximum sentence of life in state prison. Prosecutors will request bail be set at more than $2 million.
The case remains under investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department, Van Nuys Station.
