Glendora Man Sentenced to Prison for Lewd Acts on a Child, Forcible Rape

A 40-year-old man was sentenced today to 75 years to life in state prison for molesting a minor and sexually assaulting a woman over a span of nearly six years, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office announced.

On Aug. 21, a jury found Fadi Haddad of Glendora guilty of five felony counts in case KA112287: three counts of lewd act upon a child and two counts of forcible rape.

At today's sentencing, Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Mike Camacho also ordered the defendant to register as a lifetime sex offender.

Deputy District Attorney Michael Matoba of the Victim Impact Program, who prosecuted the case, said Haddad began sexually abusing an 8-year-old girl in October 2009. The abuse continued for five years, the prosecutor added.

When authorities began investigating the child sexual assaults, they discovered Haddad also had been sexually abusing an adult family member of the child victim for nearly a year, according to the prosecutor.

On April 20, 2016, prosecutors filed a case for arrest warrant. Haddad, who at the time was working as an Army reservist out of Fort Hood in Texas, was extradited to Los Angeles County to face criminal prosecution for his crimes in May 2016.

The case was investigated by the Glendora Police Department.
