Attorney General Becerra Announces Arrest of Sacramento Woman Accused of Operating Brothels in International Sex Trafficking Ring

SACRAMENTO – California Attorney General Xavier Becerra today announced that California Department of Justice special agents have arrested a Sacramento woman for her alleged involvement in an international sex trafficking ring. Yun Escamilla was booked into the Sacramento County Jail on five counts of felony pandering and is being held on $50,000 bail.

“At the California Department of Justice, our special agents and prosecutors are prepared to use every tool at our disposal to combat sex trafficking,” said Attorney General Becerra. “In California, this type of criminal conduct will not go unnoticed.”

According to the complaint, the defendant is accused of trafficking young Asian females, including one from Hong Kong, at multiple locations in Sacramento in 2015 and 2017. The California Attorney General's Office worked with victim advocates from My Sister's House to ensure that victims were offered care and services.

It is im / portant to note that a criminal complaint contains charges that are only allegations against a person. Every defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
