Man Pleads to Road Rage Assault of Elderly Victim on the 105 Freeway

Filed under: California Defense Attorney — fayarfa @ 5:45 am

A Baldwin Village man has entered a no contest plea for assaulting an 83-year-old victim during a road rage incident that began on the 105 Freeway, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced today.

Deputy District Attorney Philip Norris said Gordon Cornelius Fritz, 19, pleaded no contest yesterday to one felony count of elder abuse in case YA092248.

Fritz was immediately sentenced to one year in county jail, five years formal probation and a year of anger management classes.

On March 31, the defendant’s vehicle crashed against the elderly victim’s car leading to some yelling and honking, the prosecutor said. After both parties pulled over to the side of the road, Fritz began punching the victim in the face, the prosecutor added.

The elderly man exited the freeway and pulled into a convenience store parking lot but the defendant followed and once again punched the victim, Norris said. The attack was witnessed by police officers nearby.

The case was investigated by the California Highway Patrol, West Los Angeles Station.

  2. Thank you for this, I was about to give up on my search when I came across this information. The other guides I found weren’t nearly as helpful as yours.
