Filed under: California Defense Attorney — fayarfa @ 4:14 am

A 23-year-old man suspected of fatally stabbing his grandmother was charged today with her murder, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.

Armando Sepulveda (dob 03/13/91) is scheduled to be arraigned after 1:30 p.m. at the Foltz Criminal Justice Center, Department 30, in case BA430707. Prosecutors will ask that his bail be set at $1.03 million.

Deputy District Attorney June Chung with the Family Violence Division is prosecuting the case.

Sheriff’s deputies were called Monday to check on Anna Sepulveda, 59, when she failed to show up for work at her daughter’s Alhambra business. When deputies arrived at the victim’s East Los Angeles residence, they discovered the victim’s body in the kitchen and arrested Sepulveda, who was living with his grandmother.

The complaint charges Sepulveda with one count of murder with the special allegation of personal use of a deadly weapon, a knife. If convicted, he faces up to life in state prison.

The case remains under investigation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
